Noah’s Ark is the legendary vessel from the Bible with housed all the world’s animals from a worldwide flood.
According to Genesis 6-9, the Bible reads: “So God said to Noah ‘make yourself an ark of cypress wood.
“I am going to bring floodwaters on the earth to destroy all life under the heavens, every creature that has the breath of life in it. You are to bring into the ark two of all living creatures, male and female, to keep them alive with you.”
The Bible states the epic ship had to be “three hundred cubits long, fifth cubits wide and thirty cubits high”.
But a version of the ark has been built as footage from Channel 4’s World’s Weirdest Homes showed tonight.
In the clip, Aad Peters reads from the text as he describes building the giant vessel in Flevoland, Holland.
Storms hit the country ten years ago, severely damaging the massive boathouse.
And the Dutchman explains how they tried to get animals onto the board but they would not comply.
The ship is measured at 70m long, 13m wide, made of steel pine and cedar.
It is anchored next to a car park but used to sail, spreading the gospel of the Bible.
“This is great to tell Bible stories,” Aad said.
He had originally planned to travel with animals but this was not the case.
An elephant was bought to take on the vessel but the footage shows it could not be tempted.
“The snakes were the only ones who could live here,” he said.
“They didn’t mind.”
Aad actually bought the vessel from devout Christian businessman John Huibers, who built the boat in 2005, even making it his home.
Building the boat five years ago with 12,000 trees worth of wood, he has already sailed on Holland’s Maas River.
The preacher believed the flood was coming and tried to spread the word.
John said: “I have to tell the people they are wrong and change their lives,”
And the epic structure now serves as a museum, with animas made of wood.
The ship suffered a disaster in January, crashing into Urk village wharf as gale winds tore across Europe.
Aad said the strength of the winds ripped the ark away from the boulders it was fastened to.
Some experts believe they have found evidence of the real Noah’s Ark in Iran.
